I’ve probably said this a time or two or three dozen, nevertheless, it’s absolutely amazing the stuff one can find on the internets, even if purely by accident, and that was certainly the case here. Back in early December, I was surfing the web in search of pictures for the site’s 81st Gallery page when I happened across perhaps THE most bizarre pairing I’ve ever encountered regarding our beloved J-Pop heroines: Pink Lady….and VAN HALEN!! That’s right, kids, as you can see above, one of the bad boy bands of Rock and Roll hung out with Mie and Kei! Unbelievable! Now, judging from the dresses the girls wore in that picture, I’m guessing this was around 1978 when they were in the States to do their Las Vegas shows, perhaps the Ladies and VH met in Sin City, or maybe in Los Angeles where the girls also traveled, and was where the boys were said to have gotten their start, playing at clubs like Whisky-A-GoGo. When I saw that picture, my jaw literally dropped and the first words out of my mouth were, “You gotta be effing kidding!” because I never knew this photo existed, then quickly decided I absolutely HAD to share it with everyone, because it’s just plain wild as hell! Wouldn't you agree?
