Greetings, one and all! Because of my having switched to a new server so I could utilize the site's brand new domain name, I wasn't able to bring in the old guestbook which had so many good entries from the many fans who chimed in with their opinions and rememberances of Pink Lady. So, I transformed it into a text file and put it here for all to see. I hope you'll enjoy reading all this good stuff and will continue to support Pink Lady: The Webpage in the future! Domo Arigato!

Naminori Pirate - 01/28/00 13:46:37 Comments: Aloha Everybody...The fourth time I saw Pink Lady in concert was in Utsunomiya. My girlfriend, Miki, and I took the train up there to see them in the fall of 1980. This Pink Lady concert seemed a little bit different than the other three I'd attended. Mie and Kei (especially Mie) looked much more professional, more grown-up, more mature now. Their innocence was gone; their happy-just-to-be-here attitude seemed to have been replaced by a confident, thirsty show-biz ambition. They knew just how good they were now. But I didn't view these impressions as necessarily disappointing, but more like inevitable. And they were subconscious feelings at first &endash;- they actually took days, weeks, and months to form in my mind. At the concert, I just enjoyed watchi g and listening to Mie and Kei, as usual. No woman ever looked sexier than Mie did when she sang Blondie's "Call Me!" Take care...Jim
Michihito Osawa - 01/22/00 04:12:54 Comments: This is something I have been looking for. I got the first prize in the prefectural high school speech contest some 20 years ago, speaking about Pink Lady. I had thought that I was the only person who has been following them up after two decades. But, I am so glad that many people are still chasing them up, their whereabouts, and even discovering their TV programs in their time. I hope that Pink Lady and Jeff would be fully on air or become available on video some day. We have not forgotten their variety show in the 80's.
Naminori Pirate - 01/20/00 15:42:35 Comments: Aloha Everybody...Jeff twisted my arm into recounting my adventures at Pink Lady concerts here, but he didn't have to twist very hard -- it's fun to reminisce as I write. I saw Pink Lady in concert for the third time during the spring or summer of '80 at Seibu Stadium. They may have made an album of this concert, but I'm not sure. I think I remember them singing "Pink Typhoon" here -- I do remember them wearing those cute, little sailor outfits, and they didn't wear those for any other song, did they? My girlfriend, Miki, and I enjoyed the concert very much. Seibu Stadium is actually pretty cozy, and our seats put us very close to the Ladies -- we were about half-way up in the stands, right behind third base. Actually, everybody got a good look at Mie and Kei -- they ran and danced their way around the whole field. And they did look good! Take care...Jim
Naminori Pirate - 01/12/00 15:44:03 Comments: Aloha Everybody...As promised, here are the details about the second time I saw Pink Lady in concert -- during the summer of '79. I'm a little fuzzy about why Pink Lady gave this little outdoor concert and how I found out about it, but I think it was a t ibute to their Fan Club members. I had joined the club earlier, so of course probably found out about it that way. A fellow Air Force buddy of mine, Bill Perry, and I hopped on the train at Fussa and traveled down to Shinjuku. We watched Pink Lady play about six songs or so in a courtyard/park in the shadow of one of the big skyscrapers. It's hard to remember how many people in all attended, but I think it was around a thousand or so. Mie and Kei looked great and sounded great, of course, but the best part of this little concert was what happened when it was over. Mie and Kei sat themselves down at a table with a big pile of autographs. All of us in the audience lined up and filed past them. As we approached them, each of them greeted us and shook o r hands. The second one (I think Kei, but I'm not sure) gave us an autograph -- a white piece of cardboard, trimmed in gold, about 8 1/2 by 11", with both of their signatures in big, bold, black magic marker. In a way I was ecstatic, but in another way was disappointed...because I had missed a golden opportunity. I hadn't realized until it was too late that practically all of the Pink Lady fans in that line were not only getting autographs from Mie and Kei, but they were also "giving" them notes. I just know that if I would've given them my phone number, they would've both called me for dates. Yea, right! Take care...Jim
Naminori Pirate - 01/09/00 18:36:53 Comments: Aloha Everybody, Jeff's got a fantastic site here, doesn't he!? It feels great to reminisce about those days (over 20 years ago) when I fell head-over-heels in love with Mie and Kei. The Air Force sent me to Japan on November 30th, 1978. I discovered Pink Lady abo t one week later when I was bombarded by the sights and sounds of "Chameleon Army" all over the TV and radio. I was hooked. During my two years there in Tokyo (I lived at Yokota Air Base in Fussa and worked at Camp Drake in Akasaka), I saw them in concert four times. I convinced Hiroshi, a Japanese friend of mine, to go to a concert with me the first time in Hachioji. It was the last time for him -- He wasn't as enthralled with Mie and Kei as I was, and he was too self-conscious about being practically the only male and the only adult at the concert, besides me of course. Most of the audience consisted of screaming teeny-bopper, hero-worshipping girls. Yea, it felt a little strange for me, too, but everything in Japan felt strange for me, so what was he difference? I enjoyed it -- They not only looked great and sounded great in concert, but they got to me deeply with their smiles. They smiled so sincerely and humbly and innocently at the audience that they almost brought tears to my eyes. I'll give you the details on the other three concerts (and the time I actually got to meet them) later. Take care ... Jim
BilL Mann - 01/02/00 22:29:47 Comments: Jeff, I had almost forgotten the two lovely young Japanese ladies I had seen on TV in '79, when I was 14-15. I actually own a sealed (ok, it's been played a few times now) copy of their album with KITD. These two were as big as Blondie to me at the time. (and as I a Blondie fan). I even had a female Japanese pen pal (whom I have, sadly, lost touch with), send me a small pic out of a magazine of Mei, that I still have. On a whim, I decided to just surf looking for "Pink Lady" and lo and behold, there ARE other fans out there!!! You site is absolutely great! I've checked a few of the others I found, and yours is the best I seen so far. It's nice to see current pic of the girls and see how they are doing. They've aged pretty well. Any news on a reunion tour???? (Hey, if Blondie can get back together, cut a new album and tour (finally saw them after waiting 20 years), then why not PL? Happy Birthday and Happy Y2K! Bill Mann

Morito - 08/25/99 17:41:21 Comments: I also heard that Mie would be leaving for Los Angeles soon (Beginning of Sept.) for some TV program. She will visit some famous American ...I don't know who, but Pink lady sang his song before. Guess who.
Morito - 08/14/99 17:06:10 Comments: Do you know Kei is on TV commercial of "UFO" (the instant noodle) now? She still looks so young and pretty!!
Katrina - 08/14/99 15:46:43 Comments: You have a GREAT page! This is one of the only Pink Lady webpages I have found with really good information. The pictures are awesome too. I myself discovered Pink Lady only a few weeks ago at a Japanese camp I was at where we learned the actions to "UFO" You wouldn't have any idea where I could find a recording of UFO, would you? I've been looking all over and I haven't found a thing. Well, thanks for having a great web page, I learned a lot. And feel free to e-mail me!
peter muntean - 08/03/99 19:02:17 Comments: Thanks for their tribute. I have been in love with them and their music since the days of Kiss In the Dark. I wish I could get translations of their Japanese songs. I will be in touch ! Thanks! Peter
Lu Ann Staheli - 08/03/99 18:59:27 Comments: Jeff-This site is great! I didn't realize how much more the ladies had done than I knew about here in the U.S. with their short-lived TV show. Glad I could add a new item to your collection. Good luck! allstars

Kamasami Kong - 06/18/99 13:50:34 Comments: Morito-san, I saw your comment (just before this one) and yes, I did get together with JENNIFER BATEN again. This time she was in Osaka playing with UK guitar legend JEFF BECK! It was a great show at the new ZEPP OSAKA (near Osaka Nanko). She was as cool and personab e as ever. As you know, she was the blonde, spike-haired, rippin' guitarist for MICHAEL JACKSON's concert tour a few years ago. Wasn't she great?! The reason I'm =here= is because I had the good fortune to be seated -between- Mie and Kei at a Hawaii Gala dinner and show at the Four Seasons Hotel in Meijiro, Tokyo a few weeks ago. Probably like you, I've been their fans since 1978. Since the party, I've received a postcard from Kei and an email from Mie. Both of the PINK LADIES were positively charming, stylish and still so very beautiful :-) FYI: Also at the party was sumo champion AKEBONO and JESSIE TAKAMIYAMA, TV Personality, DAVE SPECTOR, singer HAYAMI YU and actress AGNES LUM. Of course, the politicians were there too, such as the Gvernor of Hawaii, the Mayors from Kauai, Maui, and Hawaii plus the US Ambassador to Japan TOM FOLEY. It was quite an affair! Entertainment was provided by a Hawaii duo called the BROTHERS CAZIMERO and the food was prepared by Hawaii's #1 chef, PHILLIPE PADOVANI. Aloha & Ja Ne, - Kong
Morito - 06/12/99 20:20:44 Comments: Oh!! Mr. Kong!! My friend Jennifer Batten told me she met you before in Osaka when she came to Japan as Michael Jackson's guitarist. Big surprise that you're here!!!
Kamasami Kong - 06/12/99 16:04:10 Comments: As I fan, I can tell you first hand that both Mie & Kei still look great. I had the rare opportunity to have been seated between them at a gala dinner at the Four Season Hotel here in Tokyo last week. Kei told me she stills love singing and acting and Mie enjoys travelling. There's more about the party here, check it out :-) http://starbulletin.com/1999/06/07/features/donnelly.html

Cyndus-Bean Hoffman - 04/05/99 18:24:33 Comments: I have always been a fan of Pink Lady. In fact, I once had a bicycle that I had painted pink and everyone in my family called me Pink Lady. In fact, I don't think anyone in the world has been a "Pink Lady" fan longer than I!
Tim Cafferty - 03/19/99 17:07:07 Comments: I have not had time to check out every page of your tribute to Pink Lady, but I thought that it was possible that you didn't know that the girls American show, "Pink Lady and Jeff" is mentioned on another web site, TVParty! Point your browser to http://www.tvparty.com/unseenf.html to take a look at what they have to say about them there. It isn't altogether flattering, but then, it wasn't an altogether great TV show. I liked it, and I assume that you did, too. I still thi k that those two were the best looking Japanese girls I ever saw and their music was sweet. Thanks for your efforts. Tim
April Shigatsuhana - 03/02/99 23:44:31 Comments: Hello! I love your pages of Pink Lady! I remember watching that show when I was young! I've always loved everything about Japan, so of course that was cool!

Matt Varrato - 12/12/98 14:11:41 Comments: Jeff, you're a god. I never expected to find such an in-depth site for The Ladies. I'm sure Mie and Kei would be proud! |
