THANKSGIVING 2 - WANTED
A month or so after the U.S. Navy ship I served on arrived in Japan in mid-August of 1977, I was strolling through downtown Yokosuka when, on a whim, I wandered into a record store (remember them?) and heard the aggressive strains of "Wanted", the very first Pink Lady song I ever heard. I also saw a poster of Mie and Kei, wearing what I later called their "flapper girl" dresses, the designated costumes for their fifth single release. In hindsight over forty years later, it's hard to describe what it was about that song, and the girls that entranced me so much, all I know was I was hooked on Pink Lady, and "Wanted" became my all-time favorite song by the undisputed queens of Japanese pop music. And, nearly five decades later, it's still at the top of my list, so, I'm thankful for "Wanted"!
